Pier Antonio Micheli, [Observationes Botanicae Variae, MS21], (unpublished, 1726)
Manuscript 21 is part of a group of seventy-two important manuscripts by Pier Antonio Micheli (1679-1737), botanist of the Medici Court and founder of the Florentine Botanical Society (1716). The manuscripts were donated to the library at the beginning of the twentieth century by the Targioni Tozzetti family (Giovanni had been a student of Micheli). A catalogue titled The manuscripts of Pier Antonio Micheli kept in the Botany Library of the University of Florence, was published in 1993, see the catalogue entry in OneSearch.
The Museum of Natural History of the University holds also an important herbarium by Micheli.
