Antonio Silla, born in 1737, was a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Sciences of Naples. His interests ranged from ancient historiography, to Oriental languages, to jurisprudence. In this treatise, which participates with a lively tone in the debate on the origins of the city, he supports the hypothesis that Naples was founded by the Cumans.
