The collection of exhibitions catalogues belonging to Papini special collection (about 1500 pieces) covers a period from 1878 to 1957.
Roberto Papini (1883-1957), historian of art and architecture, alongside the teaching at the universities of Perugia and Florence, he held important administrative offices: he was director of the Municipal Gallery of Prato, the Art Gallery in Brera, Milan and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome.
The catalogues shown span from the beginning of the twentieth century to 1925: from the catalogues of the International Art Exhibitions of the City of Venice (1899-1901) to the illustrated editions of the Salon (1910-1911), through to the covers illustrated by Aleardo Terzi for the catalogues of the Secessione Romana (1913 and 1914), and the catalogues of the Società delle Belle Arti of Florence and the Società degli amatori e cultori di Belle Arti (1906-1923), concluding with catalogues of the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts of 1902 in Turin and of 1925 in Monza and Paris.
