This posthumous work of Lorenzo Legati describes what may be referred to as a collection as close to a Wunderkammer model as can be found, as was the extraordinary collection of Ferdinando Cospi in Bologna. The work with its five volumes illustrates natural and archaeological finds, recognizable almost one by one in the table engraved by Giuseppe Maria Mitelli also from Bologna (1634-1718). The double-page table shows the interior of the museum and the dwarf that acts as a guide, who is also considered as mirabilium.
