With Gallo we see the beginning of the Renaissance European agronomy.
Agostino Gallo (1499-1570) devoted himself in the first person to the pleasures of country life, working directly on his own land. The work is a handbook on agriculture in which the various aspects of the fields' activities, such as soil quality, vine cultivation, harvesting, wine-making, gardening, vegetable gardening, livestock and bee-keeping are treated.
