The Florentine Recipe, published from the end of the fifteenth century until the eighteenth century with updates, is the first pharmacopoeia appeared on the Italian peninsula. It is a code drawn up by the Medical College of Florence which established the regulations that apothecaries and physicians had to follow in the preparation and prescription of medicines including as well price lists and penalties.
