This is the second volume of Il Decamerone con le Ricchezze dell’Alunno, which came out as the second volume of the Decameron of 1557. The work, containing a lexicon of the Decameronian prose accompanied by a grammar of the vernacular and various lexicographical repertoires, had already been printed without the Decameron in 1543 and later in 1551 by the heirs of Aldo Manuzio, the most notable Venetian humanist and printer. The example shown is part of the large book collection belonging to Ernesto Giacomo Parodi, and corresponds to the scientific interests of its owner.
