..., Napoli, 1677

The Chirofisonomia, written in 1581, is the last of the physiognomies by Della Porta, bearing the title Palmistry or Chirognomy. Its publication, however, was banned by the censors although the author had written to Federico Cesi (one of the founders of the Accademia dei Lincei ), asking for his intervention in order to have permission to print.

In his treatise, Della Porta explains how to seize, through the study of human parts, in this case, the hand, man's destiny. Finally, in 1677 Pompeo Sarnelli was able to translate the Latin manuscript and publish the volume with the printer Antonio Bulifon.
