Guillaume Bernard, Description de la Mer Mediterranee, auquel sont deliniees et descriptes au vif toutes les costes de la Mer Mediterraine ..., Amsterdam, 1599
The work contains the description «au vif» of all the coasts of the Mediterranean, drawn up at the end of the 16th century «avec grand travail et diligence» by the navigator Bernard Guillaume (floruit XVI cent.). Published in folio by Cornelis Claesz with decorative elements of great value, it presents a detailed representation of the coastal profiles at close range. The specimen, coming from the Medici grand-ducal collections, later passed to the Section of Philosophy and Philology of the Institute of Higher Studies, then the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Florence.
