Dell'antica storia

Adolfo Di Bérenger, Dell'antica storia e giurisprudenza forestale in Italia, Treviso, 1863.

Adolfo Di Bérenger (1815-1895), is considered the founding father of Italian forestry. He was the promoter of the establishment, in 1869, of the first Italian Forestry School in Vallombrosa.

His scientific vision of the territory, all about preserving and increasing the forest heritage, was based on an exceptional competence, due to his vast botanical and historical-juridical culture.

The work, which for the first time in the Italian context gathered the studies on forestry by the ancients, is still to this day a valid text for the historical aspects it deals with. Printed in the first edition in only 200 copies, it contains 4 sheets of illustrations.
