Set of rules and publications relating to the management and defence of the woods of the Venetian Republic, dating from 1547 to 1767, collected and bound by Adolfo Di Berenger (1815-1895).
The Venetian Republic was exemplary in the management and conservation of its forests, and the Venetian forests were subjected to rigorous rules based on conservation and protection principles. Legislative provisions issued by the Republic since the 14th century are the basis of the evolution of forestry science in Italy.
