Enrico Cavacchioli published this collection of lyrics, with a polemical title against those who "only sing nightingales", with the editions of the magazine Poesia directed by F. T. Marinetti. The elegant volume, decorated with small liberty friezes, had on the cover a drawing by the painter Ugo Valeri, brother of the most famous poet Diego. In the handful of "incendiary poets" listed by Marinetti in his Tuons le clair de lune!, Cavacchioli was among the first Italian poets to join the Futurist movement. The sample contains the autograph dedication of Cavacchioli and Marinetti, author of the introduction, and comes from Palazzeschi's collection.
